Presentation # 17 - Sinners in Need of Judgement Sabbath 29, May 2010
Title: Sinners in Need of Judgment
Topic: Judgment
Sinners in need of Judgment
We are not sinners in the hands of an angry God, but in the hands of a loving God. This Judgment of God; was not meant to bring fear to God's people, but to show God’ immense grace on them. It is a time to judge righteous and not wicked. The wicked has no room in God’s final judgment. The dye is casted, unless they turn from their wicked ways they are doomed for destruction.
Psalms 1:1
Psalm 1:4-6
The saints shall judge (review the records and come up with the conclusion that God was fair) the world.
1 Corinthians 6:2
When shall this happen?
Answer –During the 1,000 years in heaven.
Revelation 20:4-6
My God, your God needs to put an end to sin, but he needs also to show his grace. He needs to show us how much chance He has given the wicked to repent, how they did not cease from their wick ways. How He pleaded with mankind and they did not hear Him. God needs to show us this, that when his judgment is completed and we investigate the records of sinners we can see how God was fare in his judgment.
Ecclesiastes 12:14.
God must judge to bring everything to an end.
This world cannot continue in it wickedness, an end must come.
Although we all must appear before the judgment, only the wicked has to worry, because the righteous know we have a lawyer that will get us off. This lawyer is Jesus Christ.
2 Corinthians 5:10
The work of God’s people
We have a job here to make this day possible. Not that God cannot do it alone, but he has enlisted mankind to join His in the work of bringing the wicked to repentance. We need to preach this gospel to the wicked.
Scripture say - Matthew 24:13-14.
We are the one to preach this Gospel.
As we linger here still, our job as Christians is twofold.
One is to make sure our elections are sure.
And that we are not found in the company of the wicked. Make sure that we have chosen Jesus. We do this by repenting, turning from our wick ways and worship the true and only God. We have no time to play with God or play church. This is the hour that we need to come to him with contrite heart and seek His forgiveness. He is able to forgive us and blot out our sins. He can also keep us from sinning. We must produce good works, because we know that-
Matthew 7:18-20
We must check ourselves.
We must constantly ask ourselves-Are we in tune with God?
Please be ready, for we know not the hour of his judgment.
Remember that -
Matthew 7:21.
I will not leave you ignorant of the will of God.
The will of God is to love one another,
Serve God; worship Him, who created the universe,
And share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
The Lord God Almighty is the only way. He is even now petitioning to the Father on our behalf.
Sins says Yes we deserve the wages of SIN which is the judgment unto death, But Jesus stands petitioning to God, showing his nail pierce hand that HE died for you.
He is the LAMB that was foretold and the sin bearer of our sins.
Now we can come boldly before his throne with the blood of Jesus to hear our charges, knowing that Jesus is not only our defense lawyer, but He has served the sentence of our sin. We are forgiven. But we must accept HIM.
Next are those that are either ignorant of the LORD and his judgment, or refuse to hearken onto the call of the Holy Spirit. I say to you today, the ax is at the root of their tree and it is ready to be chopped down and thrown into the unquenchable fire. We who know these people need to go and inform them of their ignorance. We need to tell them of the risen Savior who die for them.
We need to petition the Holy Spirit to move on their hearts.
We need to have to love and desire for them to be saved from their wicked ways.
We who know must then tell.
This is the work of Jesus followers, to tell of the good news of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
We need to tell of the impending judgment not only to save others, but also for us not to be derelict our work as Disciples of Christ.
The devil would like to tell us that we have enough time.
If we are in our teens, he says to wait until we are in our twenties,
If we are in our twenties, he says to wait until we are in our thirties,
If we are in our thirties, he says to wait until we are in our forties.
And so on…
He does not want us to be saved. He wants us die in our sin.
He wants company, because he knows his end.
But I say to you today, don’t be in company with him.
Let him go to his judgment alone.
Let him face the music himself.
We need not burn with him.
We need then to
Acts 3:19
GOD Judgment
How is God’s Righteous Judgment going to take place? Paul puts it this way: Romans 2:2-16
The Saints Judge
The Saints Reign with Christ 1000 Years (The Millennium, which will be discussed in lecture #18) and they will take part in the judgment. Here the saints are able to see for themselves the chance God gave to mankind in order to be saved. In the end the saint will also say that God is just, because He has truly given mankind all the chance they needed to turn from their wicked ways and serve God.
John wrote in the book of Revelation:
Revelation 20:4-6 God placing the final judgment on mankind, according their deeds.
Revelation 20:11-15
Our Savior and redeemer from SIN
But the purpose of our Redeemer rings true. Jesus Christ has redeemed us for our sin, and all we need to do is to accept Him as our savior from our sins. Then He stands ready to vindicate us from our sins. In Paul’s letter to the Romans he wrote:
Romans 3:23-26
So because we are set free from our sins, we should rejoice and have the burning desire to tell our love ones, friends, and everyone who will hear of the this good news of salvation, that we have accepted the free gift of salvation, that we have an advocate who has and is representing us and that we are save form death onto eternal life in Christ Jesus.”
Paul to the Romans once again says:
Romans 6:22-23
Finally, Jesus is also our Judge. He not only our Lawyer, Our sin bearer, but also our Judge. The Father has entrusted the judgment to Him.
In the court of judgment Jesus stand in three positions to save us from the judgment. We cannot lose if you choose Jesus as our lawyer to represent us at the judgment.
John 5:22
He, Jesus Christ, is coming quickly, whether we believe it or not. And he is ringing our reward with him. The revelator John note in the book of Revelation:
Revelation 20:10-17
I Am Coming Quickly
Revelation 22:20 Hebrews 4:16
